A fitness trail also runs alongside the lake, and you can explore it by canoe!
Discover the wonders of Corsica
Bagheera’s location on the east coast offers the chance to discover a particularly authentic side of the Isle of Beauty. Around fifteen kilometres away, Aléria, the ancient capital of Corsica, boasts an archaeological museum, the Fort de Matra and the remains of the Roman city. Nearby, the Diane and Urbinu lagoons offer remarkable lagoon landscapes and provide an insight into an oyster-farming tradition that is still very much alive.
Heading inland, the landscapes change rapidly: hilltop villages, forests, torrents and high peaks make up a more mountainous side of Corsica. Corte and the Restonica Valley, the lakes of Melo and Capitello, and the Aiguilles de Bavella are just some of the many possible excursion destinations. To the south, Porto Vecchio, Bonifacio and the beaches of Palombaggia, Santa Giulia and Rondinara allow you to continue exploring an island whose diverse landscapes are one of its main attractions.
Corsica’s must-see attractions:
- Aléria, its archaeological site and Matra Fort
- The Diane and Urbinu lakes
- Cervione and the villages of Eastern Corsica
